Commission changes.
Okay, so for now I’m just gonna post this up practically empty and update/reblog when I finish detailing it out. Anything posted here is subject to change and likely will before I finally open them again.
The reason i’m changing them is because right now they simply don’t pay enough for the time put in and I just get frustrated if one takes longer than I’d like, which happens way more often than not.
Here’s the three tiers I (currently) have in mind
- First thing of note is that I’ll be doing unrefined, quick sketches (such as these) for £3.50. Maybe a bit more if i think it’ll take me more than half an hour to do.
- the higher and highest tiers will be merged and start at £25 (which assumes about 3 and half hours’ work minimum due to refining for a cleaner lineart.
- The current rough tier will likely be £10+ and essentially be a coloured, more refined version of the sketch tier.
Bear in mind this is all more or less based on aiming for £7 per hour spent drawing…. which is what I’d be looking for were i to do weekend job instead. If I’m not at least coming CLOSE to that it’s not worth my time… spending 5+ hours on £15 is NOT very pleasant when £6.50 is minimum hourly wage here (balanced to cost of living, of course).

Anyway, ON THE SUBJECT OF COMMISSIONS and why I haven’t opened slots yet. There are 3 particularly important reasons for this:
- I received 3 at once from a family member with a deadline.
- I have uni work to focus on
- I plan to redo my pricing.
The last of these things is a big point for any of you looking to grab some art from me, I’d think. More on that when I actually have time to take more commissions. Sorry for the silence on the matter til now.

So completely accidentally it’s 2 and a half years today since the LAST time I drew Surprise.
so last night’s WIP is the result of 2 and a half years of improvement.
The two awesome FoE pieces above are done by my friend Floots, who is currently looking avidly for commissions to help pay her month’s bills.

I have made a My Little Pony fanfiction story, that is designed to cure depression and other mental illnesses. I am looking for people to test out this story. But the story is quite long, and you have to read it all uninterrupted in one sitting, which will take probably up to an hour. Send me an ask, which you can do at the top left button on my page, if you happen to be interested in testing it out.
I keep scrolling past this in my ask box, but I kind of feel like I should respond.
No, i do not wish to read it. The primary reason for this is that you belittle the trials that those with depression and mental illness go though by claiming that one little story can cure it… not to to mention the sheer ego present in the claim that YOUR writing might succeed where the millions of books read by those with mental illnesses do not.
(Also I don’t have Depression or related illnesses, so I’m not sure how you intend me to ‘test’ it)

Incredibly rough storyboards done for the animations for a friend’s comics.

The first I have not previously posted to this blog as it was created before I started my animation course, but is no less relevant in this case.
My storyboarding is the worst.
Here’s something for anyone working in Flash. Four extensions I searched out from various sources (then packed in two formats for different Flash versions):
- Distribute to frames: everything on the selected layer is put into a separate frame- especially handy for image sequences
- Frame dupe remover: removes unnecessary keyframes
- Frames to symbol - copies the whole selected timeline into the timeline of a symbol… which saves a shitton of faffing about. The above screenshots relate to this one.
- Symbol to frames - does the reverse
I’ve personally used them across several Flash versions
