Today i learned about the very common tendency to give griffons knotted penises in porn.
Uh, yeah, about that… This is a common thing with griffons and has been for years, long before FiM even existed, even before Gen 3 existed. And, well, Griffon dicks do have barbs as well as a knot, at least traditionally. Knots aren’t something exclusive to canines, several species of animals have what count as a “knot” and then you got animals like Fossa’s that have TWO knots… that are barbed… yeah, seriously, barbed knots. XD
Even human penises can swell enough that, when coupled with a specific action of the vagina, will trap a couple in coitus together as effectively as a knot.
Plus, it’s a mythological creature, its penis doesn’t have to be accurate. Cats have tiny dicks anyways, and birds either don’t have them or have really weird ones.
You mean like a corkscrew shape of the duck dick? XD And exactly, Bad-Dragon made that toy based explicitly on the fact it’s been roughly the agreed upon shape since the 1990’s really. The general size and form changes, but the basic shape, a long tapered length with a knot at the base and some barbs is kinda the default form.
Just to be absolutely clear here, this wasn’t meant to be serious. I don’t even look at porn much or i’d have been aware of the griffon knot standard way before now.
I don’t really care about the shape of it’s penis, guys. Apparently this was a lot less clear than i thought it was; you really should stop taking me so seriously!
This happens way more than it should, why don’t you people learn!?

Finished this finally. Also available as a shirt, mug, cushion and random other stuff.

Okay, so for now I’m just gonna post this up practically empty and update/reblog when I finish detailing it out. Anything posted here is subject to change and likely will before I finally open them again.
The reason i’m changing them is because right now they simply don’t pay enough for the time put in and I just get frustrated if one takes longer than I’d like, which happens way more often than not.
Here’s the three tiers I (currently) have in mind
- First thing of note is that I’ll be doing unrefined, quick sketches (such as these) for £3.50. Maybe a bit more if i think it’ll take me more than half an hour to do.
- the higher and highest tiers will be merged and start at £25 (which assumes about 3 and half hours’ work minimum due to refining for a cleaner lineart.
- The current rough tier will likely be £10+ and essentially be a coloured, more refined version of the sketch tier.
Bear in mind this is all more or less based on aiming for £7 per hour spent drawing…. which is what I’d be looking for were i to do weekend job instead. If I’m not at least coming CLOSE to that it’s not worth my time… spending 5+ hours on £15 is NOT very pleasant when £6.50 is minimum hourly wage here (balanced to cost of living, of course).

Anyway, ON THE SUBJECT OF COMMISSIONS and why I haven’t opened slots yet. There are 3 particularly important reasons for this:
- I received 3 at once from a family member with a deadline.
- I have uni work to focus on
- I plan to redo my pricing.
The last of these things is a big point for any of you looking to grab some art from me, I’d think. More on that when I actually have time to take more commissions. Sorry for the silence on the matter til now.
